Education Secretary Sonny Angara announced that new guidelines will be introduced to tackle the issue of "repetitive paperwork," which the Second Congressional Commission on Education identified as a distraction from teachers' primary responsibilities.

Angara acknowledged that the Department of Education (DepEd) has not fully adopted digitalization, with reports still being done manually.

“We need to go into the 21st century and have advanced data management systems. Sayang ‘yung information namin (Our information is not being maximized), [the DepEd is] such a big organization,” Angara said

Angara added that the department will narrow down the paperwork from the current 100 or so reports being done.

“Below 20 kung kaya namin, gagawin, and very simplified. Pati ‘yung laman ng report, ika-cut na natin ‘yung hindi necessary na information. So, we’re about to issue a new department order on that, actually,” he said

(We’ll keep it below 20 if we can, and make it very simplified. We’ll also cut unnecessary information from the report. So, we’re about to issue a new department order on that, actually.)
