The Schools Division of South Cotabato released its memorandum allowing teachers to unwind, relax and not forcing to report to school during school break.

The memorandum read as follows:

The Department of Education issued DepEd Order No. 34, s. 2022 the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year (SY) 2022-2023 in accordance with its commitment to the resumption of 5 days of in-person classes despite the health crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The School Year 2022-2023 shall formally open on Monday, August 22, 2022 and shall end on July 7, 2023. Accordingly, enrollment shall be held from July 25 to August 22, Brigada Eskwela shall be conducted from August 1 to 26, and Oplan Balik Eskwela shall be conducted on August 15.

The Division Office is aware that teachers may not have enough rest time with enrollment starting on July 25 and the academic year starting by August 22, hence, all teaching personnel may only be required to report on-site starting August 15, 2022.

Enrollment activities from July 25 to August 12, 2022 shall be facilitated by the school heads and nonteaching staff only. Meanwhile, teaching personnel conducting the summer reading program and SBM validation with approved prior requests from the School Division Superintendent (SDS) are allowed to report on-site before August 15, 2022.

With the current school break, it shall allow teachers to unwind, relax, and restore a sense of balance in their lives. It will allow them to go back to the classrooms with renewed passion and enthusiasm.
