Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., sisimulan na ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang paglalabas ng mga year-end incentives para sa mga kawani nito. Saklaw nito ang Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI), Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) incentive para sa mga kwalipikadong personnel, at gratuity pay para sa mga contract-based workers.
Sa kabuuan, nasa 1 milyong DepEd employees sa buong bansa ang saklaw ng incentive package. Ang mga guro at non-teaching personnel ay tatanggap ng PhP20,000 SRI at Php5,000 PEI. Ang mga non-teaching staff ay may karagdagang PhP10,000 CNA incentive, habang ang Contract of Service at Job Order workers ay makakatanggap ng hanggang PhP7,000 na gratuity pay, depende sa haba ng kanilang serbisyo.
Alinsunod sa opisyal na guidelines ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM), ilalabas ng DepEd ang SRI sa dalawang tranche, simula sa unang tranche ngayong Disyembre. Ang initial release ay aabot ng hindi bababa sa PhP10,000 at hanggang PhP14,500 kada eligible employee. Ang natitirang balanse ay ilalabas pagkatapos maaprubahan ang request para sa modification ng allotments.
Kasama sa mga entitled sa SRI ang mga DepEd personnel na may regular, contractual, at co-terminus appointments sa central, regional, division, at school offices.
“Nagpapasalamat kami sa mga guro at kawani ng DepEd na patuloy na nagpapatakbo ng ating sistema ng edukasyon,” ani Education Secretary Sonny Angara. “Kayo ang dahilan kung bakit malaki ang budget ng edukasyon, at tungkulin naming tiyakin na ito ay nagreresulta sa benepisyo at serbisyong karapat-dapat sa inyo.”
