Rep. France Castro of the ACT Teachers Party-list thanked the Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund for its decision to defer its premium increase.

“It is good that PAGIBIG listened and is sensitive to the plight of our countrymen who are still reeling from the Covid pandemic and the economic crises,” Castro said.

The lawmaker said that the PAGIBIG, Social Security System, Government Service Insurance System and Philhealth were formed to make the lives of the public better and should not be the cause of further hardships.

“Mas mahalaga ang buhay ng mga Filipino kesa sa fund life ng kung anumang ahensiya,” she added.

“They should help our countrymen now when they most need it and not in a future date that they may not even reach because of today’s crises,” Castro said.

She expressed hope that the SSS board will also defer the planned premium increase.
