Representative France Castro of the ACT TEACHERS Party-list said on Sunday that teachers are ready for the resumption of face-to-face classes for School Year 2022-2023.

“Patapos na ang school year, August 22 ang start ng school year, kaya ngayon ay sinisikap nilang (teachers) mapaghandaan,” Castro said in a radio interview.

However, the lawmaker stressed that this means teachers will have no vacation since they are also mandated to attend in-service trainings and Brigada Eskwela.

Because of this, Castro urged the Department of Education to provide materials and equipment needed for the conduct of face-to-face classes.

She stressed the need to follow health protocols for everyone’s safety.
The lawmaker also sought the hiring of more teachers and school assistants.
