The Department of Education (DepEd) expects more grade levels and schools to participate in the expanded phase of face-to-face (F2F) classes, almost two years since school campuses were locked down due to the coronavirus outbreak.

At present, only Kindergarten to Grade 3 and senior high school students are allowed to participate in the F2F classes in 287 public and private schools.

"During the December COVID status, our intention was to start immediately in January. But that was deferred to not earlier than Jan. 15. Then we had a meeting on Jan. 17 and the suggestion was not earlier than February," Malaluan said in Filipino during an interview on dzBB.
