According to the report of 👉 CNN Philippines Classes and work have been suspended in at least two areas as severe tropical storm "Odette" poses threat to the Visayas and Mindanao.

Samar Governor Michael Tan on Wednesday ordered the suspension of classes and work in the entire province "as precautionary measure from the weather disturbance."

Following his directive, several other local officials announced class and work suspensions in their cities and towns. These are the following:
Eastern Visayas
-Tacloban City, Samar — work in government offices (half day suspension on Dec. 15, whole day on Dec. 16)
-Taft, Samar — classes and work (Dec. 15-16)
-Arteche, Samar — classes in public and private schools, work in government offices (Dec. 15-16)
-Guiuan, Samar — classes in public and private schools, work in public and private offices (Dec. 15-17)
-Giporlos, Samar — classes and work (Dec. 15-17)
-Salcedo, Samar — classes and work

Classes and work are also suspended in Maripipi town in Biliran and the province of Southern Leyte effective Dec. 15.
Davao Region

-Monkayo, Davao De Oro — classes (Dec. 14-15)

As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, Odette was last spotted 590 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The typhoon is forecast to reach its peak intensity of 155 kilometers per hour before making landfall in the vicinity of CARAGA or Eastern Visayas on Thursday afternoon.
