1. Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 322, s. 1997 titled Authorizing Certain Government Agencies to Undertake Activities in Preparation for their Centennial Anniversary Celebrations in 1997, 1998 and 1999 and thereby recognizing June 23. 1898. as the Foundation Day of this Department. DepEd announces its 123rd Founding Anniversary with the theme. Bayanihan Para sa Edukasyon.
2. Bayanihan is a Filipino term used to describe people working in solidarity to achieve a common goal. The theme. Bayanihan Para sa Edukasyon expresses DepEd commitment to continually provide quality basic education through the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) while ensuring health, safety, and well-being of the learners, including the teaching and nonteaching personnel in this challenging time.
3. To promote public awareness of this event while ensuring strict compliance to the safety protocols. DepEd Central Office enjoins all Department officials and personnel at the regional, schools division offices, and schools to
a. Produce Information and Communication Materials
i. Hang DepEd 123rd Founding Anniversary official streamer in offices and schools; and
ii. Wear a blue shirt on June 23. 2021, in support of the event.

b. Participate in DepEd Online Celebration
i. Join the Flag-raising Ceremony on June 21. 2021, through a live stream via DepEd Philippines official Facebook (FB) page;
ii. Use the official frame for profile photos in FB;
iii. Change of virtual backgrounds in online meeting platforms;
iv. Nominate DepEd officials. employees, learners, individuals. and/or groups of individuals to be featured on DepEd Philippines official FB. Nominees must have shown significant initiatives and provided extraordinary contributions within their community that depict the spirit of bayanihan (see Enclosure No. 1) for more details): v. Share Anong kwentong DepEd mo?, a written post or video recording in social media, using the hashtags #DepEd123 and #BayaniParaSaEdukasyon (see Enclosure No. 2) for more details); and
vi. Follow and join other online activities to be released through DepEd Philippines official FB.

Enclosure No. 1. Nomination of DepEd Officials, Personnel and Learners
The nomination aims to recognize DepEd officials, teaching and non-teaching personnel, learners, individuals, and/or groups of individuals, who have shown significant initiatives and extraordinary contributions within their community that depict the spirit of bayanihan. These might inlucde an act or approach done intended to resolve or improve a situation within their community during these challenging times.
The Equal Opportunity Principle (EOP) shall be exercised to underscore the Department's policy of no discrimination against any employee or learner for rewards and recognition regardless of age, gender, civil status, disability, religion, ethnic group, and political beliefs. The stories may be shared through a written post or video recording in your social media accounts with hashtags #DepEd123 and #BayanihanParaSaEdukasyon. The story should contain (1) words to describe your DepEd experience, (2) best memories in DepEd, and (3) reasons why you love DepEd. Selected posts will be featured on DepEd Philippines official FB.
Reminders: For learners who are 13 years old and below, they are encouraged to use and share their posts using their parents' or guardians' FB accounts. This is to protect their identity and ensure their security in a public virtual space.
Please be aware that once you post online, it can and will be read by others. Strict compliance to social media community guidelines must be observed at all times. We encourage everyone to exercise caution when posting about their personal and identifiable information.
